Southgate Pocket Park

London Borough of Enfield

APES collaborated with Jan Kattein Architects to transform the Pocket Park outside Southgate Town Centre's Bus Station. This exciting project, developed through extensive community engagement and workshops led by Jan Kattein, brings new life to a key public space.

The improved Pocket Park features innovative seating units, engaging stepping logs, and enhanced planting, all designed to create a more inviting and functional urban environment. In a commitment to the circular economy, APES proudly sourced the timber for the beautiful new benches directly from fallen trees in Epping Forest.

This intervention is part of Enfield Council's broader initiative to enhance Southgate throughout 2024, focusing on improving pedestrian routes and enriching the public realm through green infrastructure and public art. The Southgate Pocket Park stands as a testament to thoughtful design and community collaboration.
